With Labor Day falling on September 7 this season we run the risk of our playoff schedule running too late into September or early October, when weather becomes more unpredictable and we start to lose players to other sports and commitments. To deal with this risk, the Board has decided to change our playoff format for baseball effective this season.
The first round will start on September 8 and remain a best 2 out of 3 with a change that there will be no off days. For example, if Series A was scheduled to have Game 3 Monday but it is unnecessary, Series B would play Monday night instead.
The remaining 4 teams will play a double knockout tournament starting on Friday, September 18 which will conclude by Tuesday, September 22 (weather dependent).
This will create a very fun tournament atmosphere for the players and parents and encourage them to stay around the park to watch other teams play while determining who their next game will be against.
