MINORS FINAL: Knights vs. Bisons preview

The last stage in the quest for playoff glory starts on Monday at 6pm when the Knights and Bisons clash in game 1 of the Minors championship series!

KNIGHTS: The kids in grey finished the regular season in the top spot with a 14-6-1 record. The Knights held on to either the 2nd or 3rd spot in the standings for the first half of the season and then steadily climbed to the 1 spot with a few games left and never let go. In the 1st round, the Leafs gave the Knights a scare in game 1, but the team prevailed and won the series 2-0. In round 2, the Cannons put up a fight but the Knights’ strong hitting overwhelmed the opposition. They go into the finals riding a combined undefeated streak of 8 games (4 games in regular season, 4 in playoffs).

BISONS: Black is back! The Bisons advancing the to finals has become a common theme — this marks the 4th consecutive season the franchise has sent a Minors team to the championship final (winning in 2023, losing in 2022 and 2024). The Bisons finished 2nd overall during the regular season with a 16-7 record, just a shade behind the Knights, after holding the top spot for over half the season. The Bisons had a scare in round 1 when the feisty Monarchs took game 2, but the kids in black ended up taking the series 2-1. Then in 2nd round, the Bisons pile up runs with a herd mentality against the Jets. They go into the finals having won 8 of their last 10 games stretching back into the regular season.

Good luck to the players, coaches, and parents!
