MAJORS FINAL: Orioles vs. Expos preview

Playoff glory starts on Monday at 8pm when the Orioles and Expos are set to battle in game 1 of the Majors championship series!

ORIOLES: The number 1-seeded Orioles go into the finals to defend their 2024 title. The O’s were dominant in the regular season, compiling a 19-2 record and never letting go of 1st place in the standings all season. Their success stemmed from excellent pitching and fielding, combined with a deep roster of hitters who have continued that trend in the playoffs. In round 1, they stymied the Pirates allowing zero runs and 4 hits over 2 games. In round 2, it was more of the same as the Mets could only muster 2 runs in 2 games. The Orioles are on an 11-game undefeated streak in the playoffs stretching back to last season.

EXPOS: The number 2-seeded Expos were the only other team in the Majors to be above a .500-winning percentage, going 14-6-1 and nipping at the heels of the Orioles all season. The Expos had a scare in round 1 losing the first game to the 7th-seeded Cubs, but the team bounced back with excellent pitching (and a grand slam in game 3!) to take the series in 3 games. Round 2 produced the tightest series in the entire High Park playoffs, with each of the two games against the White Sox ending in 1-0 victories, again on the strength of the team’s pitching depth.

Good luck to the players, coaches, and parents!
