Orioles repeat as regular season champs in Majors division

For the second consecutive season, the Orioles have won the Danny Hallas Memorial Trophy as regular season champions of the Majors division. With a 19-2 record, the Orioles held on to 1st place for most of the season, yet still had to hold off a strong challenge by the Expos (14-6-1) until the last few games. The Expos were in 3rd spot for only one game and held the 2nd spot for almost the entire season. The middle spots of the standings — from 3rd to 7th — were competitive and often in flux for the entire season with teams climbing and falling on a game-to-game basis.

Congratulations to all of the players and coaches in the division on a successful regular season and we all look forward to the the unpredictable playoffs.
