At High Park T-Ball, we strive to provide a safe and fun environment for everyone, especially the youngest kids in our bunch!
The Instructional program is designed to introduce young players to the sport of baseball. 6 year-old girls and boys learn to catch, throw, hit off a tee, and run the bases while playing a variety of games.
During May and June, you can expect to focus on skills development with your team once a week. The activities change frequently to keep the children active and involved.
- Wednesdays 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, or
- Saturdays 8:30 am – 10 am
We introduce game play during July and August (Saturdays or Sundays) with an emphasis on having fun! It’s a great introduction to T-Ball.
The Instructional League is separate from the T-Ball House League. While it does not have the same extensive schedule of games, it does have teams and uniforms and progresses to games in the second half of the season. The season culminates at the end of August with a fun, mini-tournament between the 6 teams where players get to showcase their newly-learned skills in a series of games. Our goal is that by the end of the season, instructional girls and boys will be ready to head into T-Ball the following year.
Call-ups
House League teams that are short a player for a game can put out a call for instructional league players to help out. Being “called up” to a house league game is a great way to get a taste of the real thing. House league teams must give the instructional league first crack at their available spots before they open them to other house league teams. Watch for emails from the instructional league leader on the call-up process.
