High Park Baseball players and parents,
April is always an exciting time for High Park baseball as teams play early season exhibition games in anticipation of following the bag piper onto the field to celebrate Opening Day.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 situation the City of Toronto has cancelled all City Spring athletic parks and recreation programs and permits through to June 30. Last week Mayor John Tory said they will be reviewing the status of allowing Summer Programs over the next couple months.
The Board has developed several scenarios for offering a modified baseball/T-Ball schedule to our kids for the 2020 season. We remain hopeful we can still play some baseball this summer. We’ll continue to monitor this evolving situation and will follow the guidance of our public health authorities as well as Little League Canada in making a final decision in late Spring.
In the meantime, we hope you and your family are, and remain, well. We encourage all community members to stay safe and follow the guidelines set forth by our local and national health authorities to do our part in containing the impact of the coronavirus.
We will monitor this situation closely and provide further updates to our community as we learn more. If you have any questions, you can email us:[email protected]
